Services

Pen and Tonic provides workshops for community groups and staff teams including 1:1 support to enhance staff wellbeing. Training sessions are also popular with community practitioners who would like to use writing as part of their work with individuals and groups. We also run an ongoing programme of Taster and Writing for Health Days (details, right), along with special events and projects.

Courses and workshops

The general aim of these is to:

  • Support individuals and groups to find their voice.
  • Reduce stress levels.
  • Build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Amaze people at what they can achieve through writing and storytelling whatever their literacy skills or experience.
  • Help people to gain insights into a problem or life event.

Pen and Tonic can provide workshops flexible to your needs. For example:

  • You might want to explore a particular theme – for example how to increase staff wellbeing at work.
  • Campaign to get a point of view across about issues affecting your community.
  • Host a course or workshop as part of your organisation’s staff development.
  • Create a story album with friends and family for a special birthday.

Supervision and mentoring

Pen and Tonic provides supervisory support for anyone who would like to use expressive writing as a method of exploring their work.
